At Rachie's Childcare, I am dedicated to creating a nurturing, stimulating and welcoming environment for all children.
I have a lovely, bright and colourful home that I share with my partner and 2 young children. There are patio doors leading from my living room to a fully enclosed rear garden thus allowing a free flow of exploration indoors and outdoors. The garden is compact but contains a slide and Wendy house, a storage box full of outdoor toys, a sandpit, a small veg patch and currently there is a living tee-pee of french climbing beans.
There is a varied selection of good toys, and children will be taken out most days to a playgroup, park or library to find new experiences and socialise. I have an extensive children’s book collection covering many factual topics as well as various fictional fantasies, with puppets, flaps, pop-ups etc to make reading fun.
In the kitchen we have a play kitchen with many foods and utensils for making meals, and a large selection of pens, crayons, paints and doughs for creativity.
My eldest child will be starting at Marksbury Road Primary in September and so I can do dropoffs and pickups for Marksbury Road Primary, and possibly Victoria Park Primary also.
I intend to undergo some forest school training in the future and I practice gentle parenting with my own children (see blogs such as “aha parenting” for an idea!) and will practise this too with yours. My setting is a home from home.

I intend:
To show a commitment to the Early Years Foundation Stage, this will be done through constant provisions and daily activities to help the children learn and achieve in different areas.
To provide free flow play with inside and outside areas, I like the children to have a safe and open environment to play and have adventures.
To take the children out for trips to Local Sure Start Centres, other playgroups, other childminders, Libraries, farms, parks and any other places where the children can learn and play safely.
To treat every child as an individual as they all have different needs, skills and backgrounds.
To listen to the children and encourage them to express their ideas and positively contribute to our childminding setting, its environment and activities.
